Carolyn and Brigid have worked together as Speech and Language Therapists across three decades. They share core clinical values and strong therapeutic skills, across shared and individual specialities, and complement each other’s treatment styles.

At the heart of their therapy approach, is ensuring the person remains at the core of all clinical targets, empowering the person with Parkinson’s Disease to achieve their therapy goals.

About our Co-Founders

Carolyn Greer MSc, BSc(Hons) SLT, RegMem RCSLT, ASLTIP, HCPC. Highly Specialist Advanced Practitioner Speech and Language Therapist, Voice and Upper Airway conditions.

Carolyn is a Highly Specialist Advanced Practitioner Speech and Language Therapist in the area of voice and upper airway conditions. She is the Clinical and Service Lead of the Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Voice and Throat Service in the South Eastern Trust and runs a private Voice and Upper Airway disorders clinic.

A graduate of Ulster University, Carolyn has a career spanning over 30 years in SLT, working in health trusts in England, and 3 of the health trusts in Northern Ireland. In this time, she has accomplished specialisms in ENT and neurology, working with complex speech, voice and swallowing disorders. Within her specialism of voice and throat disorders, Carolyn assesses and manages functional voice conditions caused by hyperfunctional voice use and stress, organic voice disorders as a result of physiological cause, illness or surgery, and throat conditions such as chronic cough, Inducible laryngeal obstruction, hypersensitive larynx and Globus sensation. Amongst her clinical skills in her specialist area, she has post-graduate training in Voicecraft therapy, semi-occluded vocal tract therapy, laryngeal manipulation, neurolinguistic programming, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for voice disorders and solution focused brief therapy. Carolyn works with all client groups and has a special interest in Functional voice disorders related to hyperfunctional voice use, particularly for professional voice users such as teachers/educators.

Carolyn has developed and runs the first SLT Led ENT Parallel clinic in Northern Ireland working as a level 3 endoscopist performing laryngoscopy at advanced practitioner level. This is an award-winning laryngoscopy clinic, where patients are seen by the SLT in place of the ENT doctor.

Carolyn regularly presents on the role of SLTs at advanced practice level and acts as a trainer, mentor and specialist advisor for voice and throat disorders regionally. She is an active member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice network, and The Clinical Excellence Network Voice NI. Carolyn is a licenced LSVT LOUD practitioner, co-leading Speak LOUD, an intensive Speech and Language Therapy program for people with Parkinson’s Disease and runs her own successful private Voice and Throat clinic for patients with voice and upper airway disorders.

Brigid Dorrian, BSc (Hons) SLT, RegMem RCSLT, ASLTIP, HCPC, Specialist Advanced Practitioner Speech and Language Therapist.

With over 34 years of experience as a Speech and Language Therapist, Brigid has dedicated her career to delivering high-quality care for individuals with a range of neurological disorders, particularly those associated with Stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Dementia, and Frailty. As a fully regulated member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and registered with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC), she brings a wealth of expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and managing communication and swallowing disorders.
Brigid’s clinical skills encompass the assessment and treatment of aphasia, dysarthria, and dyspraxia. She has extensive experience in delivering bespoke communication programs tailored to individual needs, and supporting clients in optimizing their communication abilities. Additionally, she is skilled in the use of the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT), particularly for individuals with Parkinson’s disease, enhancing vocal loudness and clarity. 
Beyond communication disorders, Brigid’s expertise extends to the assessment and management of dysphagia, employing both traditional swallowing assessment and advanced instrumental assessments to offer safe and effective swallowing strategies and advice for clients. She has experience providing swallow therapy including Phagenyx and McNeill dysphagia Therapy. Brigid’s work is rooted in evidence-based practice, and she is committed to continuously refining her skills to provide the highest standard of care. 

Brigid is passionate about empowering individuals with neurological conditions, improving their quality of life, and supporting families and caregivers through education and intervention. Her experience, clinical acumen, and dedication to patient-centred care has influenced her role as trainer and mentor over decades in the NHS.
